Meet Your Broker - Amanda Johnsen
Individual & Family Health Insurance
Understanding your health insurance options can feel confusing — especially when plans, costs, and coverage details aren’t always easy to compare.
You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
I help individuals and families explore their options, understand how coverage works, and choose a plan that fits their needs.
How I Help
Everyone’s situation is different, which is why I take the time to understand what matters most to you before making any recommendations.
When we work together, I can help you:
-
Understand the difference between plan types and how coverage works
-
Review your doctors and make sure they’re in-network
-
Check your prescriptions and expected costs
-
Compare available plans based on your budget and needs
-
Explain everything in simple, clear terms
My goal is to make sure you feel confident in your decision — not overwhelmed by it.
Your Coverage Options
There isn’t one “right” plan — just the one that works best for your situation. I’ll help you understand your options so you can make an informed choice.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I’ll help you understand the differences so you can choose what works best for you.
Non-Marketplace Options
In some situations, there may be alternative coverage options outside of the marketplace. These can be helpful depending on your needs, but it’s important to understand how they work and what they do (and don’t) cover.
Marketplace (ACA) Plans
These plans are available through the Health Insurance Marketplace and include comprehensive coverage for essential health benefits. Depending on your income, you may qualify for financial assistance to lower your monthly premium.
When Can You Enroll?
Health insurance enrollment is based on specific timeframes.
You may be able to enroll if you:
-
Are within the annual Open Enrollment period
-
Have experienced a qualifying life event (loss of coverage, move, household change, etc.)
-
Are transitioning off employer coverage
If you’re not sure whether you qualify, I can help you understand your options.
A Simple, No-Pressure Process
Working with me is straightforward:

Common Questions
No. I help you explore both marketplace and non-marketplace options so you can choose the coverage that works best for your situation.
A Special Enrollment Period allows you to enroll in coverage outside of open enrollment if you experience a qualifying life event.
It depends on your situation. If you don’t qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, your options may be limited — but I can help you understand what’s available.
There is no cost to work with me. I’m compensated by the insurance carriers, so you get guidance and support at no additional expense.
